The Red Balloon / Den røde ballon

’The Red Balloon’ is inspired by the French film with the same title by Albert Lamorisse. It tells a poetic story of a small boy and his balloon, which doesn’t only fly where it wants, but can also reciprocate the boy’s friendship.

Is the boy able to defend his air-filled friend against uncomprehending adults or a group of irritating street children?

The performance, which is for children from 3 years and up, is without dialogue, except for short expressions like ‘Oh, No, Mother, Ow’ etc.

The show is a collaboration between designer Berta Doubková and Naive Teater’s creative team.

They have previously created prize-winning shows for the youngest audience, which have all been presented at Festival of Wonder.

New music has been composed to illustrate the various moods of the performance.
