Theatre Yael Rasooly, in cooperation with Figurteatret i Nordland, Norway

Edith and Me

A singer is strangely apathetic, unable to move and can no longer perform. A secret is burning inside her. She is not alone – a lively and resolute Edith Piaf is there to drag her out of bed and pull her back to life.

Together this unlikely pair forms a partnership of solidarity and tenderness. They embark on a journey full of greatness and vulnerability, sorrow and victory, competition and compassion. This is the only way forward in order to free oneself and each other from a distant past. Daring to touch the truth and expose it. Telling a story of survival through art in the most physical way possible. Once again they meet demons who are lurking nearby and within – until a new undeniable voice is born.

After the performance Thursday at 19:00 Yael Rasooly will host an ‘After Talk’, when she will talk about the creation of the show. There will also be a chance to ask Yael questions. All are welcome, even if you have not seen the performance on Thursday.
