Schickelgruber
Schickelgruber is a film adaptation of Stuffed Puppet Theatre’s acclaimed production.
The story plays out in the führer bunker around April 20, 1945, Hitler’s 56th birthday, while the Russians invade the outskirts of Berlin. It depicts the last days of the fall of a dictator. The characters, Adolf Hitler, Herman Göring, Joseph Goebbels and Eva Braun are portrayed masterfully by Neville Tranter while he himself plays a part. The show is a solo performance in which Tranter manipulates and speaks for all puppets with virtuosity. It has been on
tour around the world, including at Festival of Wonder. The show uses Tranter’s signature style of human-sized puppets with extremely expressive faces and eyes.
Through dark humor and psychological insight, the human mediocracy of these historical monsters is on display, without making them sympathetic.
The film will be shown with the permission of Neville Tranter
